Confidence

Competence

Community

Our 3 Cs philosophy is a part of everything we do. Our goal for every girl is to gain confidence in herself and competence in a variety of skills, while being a part of a physically and emotionally safe community. All of this is accomplished in an energetic, positive atmosphere charged with Wico Spirit!

Activities

Campers benefit from first-rate instruction and encouragement on the field and off. We pride ourselves on a program that caters to all abilities and meets each child’s needs.

In addition to the group lessons which are a part of the regular schedule, campers may sign up for separate private lessons in gymnastics, tennis and soccer.

  • Archery
  • Basketball
  • Field Hockey
  • Gaga
  • Golf
  • Gymnastics
  • Lacross
  • Soccer
  • Softball
  • Tennis
  • Volleyball

Cooking is one of Wico’s most popular activities! Girls enjoy developing their skills and then sampling what they make! In each class, girls work on preparation including knife skills, measuring and mixing. They are encouraged to be creative, and have the opportunity to edit recipes when appropriate. We publish a cookbook, so that campers may reproduce recipes when they get home.

We offer a variety of classes in both dance and fitness. Dance classes culminate in our end-of-the-session dance show! Our fitness program meets the needs of all campers regardless of ability or experience.

  • Ballet
  • Cardio Fitness
  • Circuit Training
  • Contemporary Dance
  • Hip Hop
  • Pilates
  • Select Dance Group
  • Tap
  • Yoga

Camp Wicosuta’s outdoor adventure program, called “Wico Extreme,” offers campers on-and off-site programming and opportunities for both team building and personal challenge. Our philosophy regarding Extreme is “challenge by choice,” which encourages campers to go beyond their self-set limits.

  • Environmental Education
  • High Ropes Elements
  • Low Ropes Elements
  • Off-Site Hiking
  • Overnight Camping
  • Rock Climbing
  • Survival Skills
  • Whitewater Rafting

Horseback Riding

This on-site optional program exposes campers at a variety of levels to English-style horseback riding. In advance of camp, campers sign up for either four or nine 50-minute private lessons. Campers become comfortable in the stable learning how to groom and handle the horses.

Ice Skating

Campers sign up in advance to be part of the ice skating program. Participants in the program have three opportunities to skate over the summer. Each two-hour session consists of a lesson and a free skate. The ice skating program is hosted at Plymouth State University, located 20 minutes away from camp.

Campers who participate in theatre may choose to do so on stage or backstage. Offerings – including drama classes, set design and participation in a musical production – underscore the idea that every camper’s role is important.

  • Acting
  • Lower and Upper Camp Musical Productions
  • Set Design

Personal expression is important to us, as is exposure! Campers may be exposed to up to six different Visual Arts offerings each summer. Visual Arts staff members are skilled in their medium and are able to instruct campers at various skill levels.

  • Ceramics
  • Digital Photography
  • Drawing and Painting
  • General Arts and Crafts
  • Jewelry
  • Needlework

Pool Activities

Wicosuta’s heated pool is centrally located and always busy! Daily swim lessons, based on the American Red Cross’ Learn to Swim program, are mandatory for girls who have completed Grades 1-4. We use the pool in the evening, as well, to host age-group pool parties!

Waterfront Activities

Located on Newfound Lake, recognized as one of the cleanest and clearest lakes in America, our waterfront boasts a white sand beach with a gradual incline into the water. Girls enjoy the crystal-clear water and being able to see the bottom of the lake from almost any vantage point.

Questions about transportation?

Travel by Air

For those traveling by air, make arrangements to fly into Boston Logan Airport (BOS) or Manchester • Boston Regional Airport (MHT).

For campers flying on chaperoned flights: Atlas Travel coordinates our chaperoned flights. Please complete the form located on the My CampMinder dashboard and submit directly to Atlas Travel. If you need to reach Atlas Travel, please contact Tara Vaz at 508-488-1196
or [email protected]. All tickets for chaperoned flights must to be purchased through Atlas Travel. Note: We require 4 campers per location in order to send a chaperone.

For campers flying on non-chaperoned flights: Please arrange to have your child land by 12:00 PM. A camp representative will meet your camper and escort them to camp.

Be sure your daughter has a photo ID and that her carry-on luggage complies with airline guidelines.

Travel by Bus

1. Arrive at the pickup/drop off site 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.
2. We assign seats for all campers taking the bus to camp. Wico staff will accompany the campers on
the bus.
3. Limit luggage to one small carry-on bag. Campers should bring lunch and a drink in a small carryon bag. Only pack enough for lunch, as we don’t allow food in camp. DO NOT PACK ANY NUTS OR
FOODS WITH NUT PRODUCTS IN THEM. See “Nut Allergies” on page 14 for more details.
4. The coach buses are air-conditioned and have on-board bathrooms.
